The Apple Massacre

Okay you guys, I have something to confess. I learned this semester I have a technology curse. Let me elaborate...

I have a Macbook Pro that is a year old. The first week of this semester my laptop randomly would not turn on. After panicking and calling Apple to find out my AppleCare was up 6 DAYS BEFORE THIS my roommate got it to turn on. I thought it was all over... boy was I wrong!

The next morning it wouldn't turn on again. I called my mom and she told me she found a guy to look at it. He had it for four days and at the end of those four days he told me it was broken and to take it to the Help Desk on campus. Thanks guy.

I took it to the Help Desk and got a call a few days later that it was turning on. He told me it just powered on when he hit the power button, so he ran some resets and tests and gave it back to me. AMAZING!!! I was so excited. I had a 7 page log for my internship on there that was due the next day. I wasn't going to have to redo it!!! Until a few hours later when I tried to work on the log and my laptop wouldn't turn on...

I pulled an all-nighter re-writing the log on my roommates laptop and turned it in. I took my laptop back to the Help Desk. Long story short the technician that got it said it was turning on for him and it passed all of the tests. He gave it back to me with a shrug and a message that if it happened again he would look at the hardware inside.

Well... I'm sure you can guess what happened. The next day it wasn't working again... I turned it back in and talked to a technician who was working there. He assured me they would fix it. I got a call a few days later and they gave it to the same technician as last time. He told me it was working for him again. I asked him to open the back and test the hardware like he said he would do before. He refused.

I picked it up yesterday and I am taking it to the Apple Store in Grand Rapids this weekend because SURPRISE it's still not working. Four weeks into the semester and my laptop is still broken.

Oh, and also my iPhone decided to stop working for half a day too. It's working now, but I have little faith it will continue for very much longer.
